First Junts + telematics with Jaume Sorolla
The FC Barcelona B basketball player has shared his experiences with young players thanks to the collaboration of PB Congrés and PB Cardedeu
Despite the current situation preventing its usual format, the Junts + program of the Supporters' Clubs World Confederation has not stopped. Thanks to technology, he has been able to maintain his training and promotion of grassroots sport with young athletes. In this case, the protagonist has been Jaume Sorolla, FC Barcelona B player in the basketball section, who has connected telematically to talk with a score of boys and girls.
Those attending the talk belong to two youngest basketball teams. On the one hand, the Associació Esportiva Arrels Congrés de Barcelona, thanks to the collaboration of the PB Congrés, of the Barcelonès Est Federation; and on the other, the Cardedeu Basketball Club, led by PB Cardedeu, from the Vallès Federation. Its young members have been in charge of asking the Tortosa player, who at 23 years of age has a remarkable career in training basketball, both in the lower categories of FC Barcelona and in the American university league (NCAA). where he played four years before joining Barça B.
This jump from Catalonia to the United States has been one of the aspects that has aroused the most interest. Sorolla has highlighted the friendships he forged during his time at the Masía, but also the importance of losing the fear of such a drastic change and the need to adapt to new realities. His advice: never stop believing in yourself, despite the negative reviews that may be received, and learn from them.
The Barça B basketball player has also conveyed to boys and girls the importance of never leaving school, even if they aspire to a career as a professional athlete. He himself has put it into practice between Barcelona and the United States, where he did a Degree in International Trade, and is currently still training through a Master in Sports Management.
Finally, Jaume Sorolla also had words for the coordinators of the basketball teams attending the talk, who also followed it from their home. Beyond reinforcing the team concept, it has prioritized aspects such as work and perseverance, but also the need to convey the importance of resting well and eating well, since in the long term these values can make a difference.
