For many years now, the supporters club movement has been demanding a membership card issued directly by FC Barcelona, thus creating a direct bond between them and the club they support.
At the World Congress of Supporters Clubs it was finally decreed that members should receive cards identifying their status. But first, it was necessary to identify all of the supporters club members, a procedure that started in 2012 with the census. The fruits of those efforts started appearing in late 2013, when the first clubs started receiving their cards.
NOT JUST AN IDENTITY DOCUMENT
As well as identifying carriers as members of official FC Barcelona supporters clubs, the Penyista Card also offers a series of other benefits. Holders get discounts in the FCB Museum and can also collect tickets without having to show the supporters club’s credentials.
Holders can also get free passes for most games played in the Miniestadi, whether by Barça B, the Youth A team or the Ladies team, and also for futsal, roller hockey and handball games in the Palau Blaugrana. Not only that, but holders get free entry to games played by youth teams and other sports teams played at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper every weekend.
